A Sunday trip to Santa Cristina

A Sunday trip to Santa Cristina

Last Sunday we spent at the archeological site Santa Cristina near Paulilatino.

It's a most particular site composed by a Christian church built in the 1300 century with a surrounding village for religious occasions dating the 1800 century. Then on one side of the village, you find a nuragic (around 1100 BC) tower and remains of a village and stalls that are even older, still intact!! On the other side, there's a sacred place also from Nuragic times with a water temple and the well still intact. The well is a real architectural wonder built in basalt as a cone leading you down to the water 7 m down with steep steps. Sooo beautiful! Unbelievable they could build things like that without the tools of today!

The parc is really particular and magic, perfect for a day trip and picknick in the green. Although there's also a nice restaurant at the site!
