Carnival time!

Carnival time!

We’ve just passed a couple of busy and festive weeks with carnival all over the island. In Sweden, we do not celebrate carnival so my first year here in Sardinia it came like a colorful shock!

Now I’m the first one to mark the dates in my calendar. I just LOVE masquerades!! My parents have always organized theme parties when we were growing up, for us children as for the adults, and I guess it has had its impact!

Carnival is always celebrated in February with the last day on Shrove Tuesday before Lent. But there’s hardly anything religious about it! The lovely thing is that almost everyone participates, young as old!
Here comes some of my favorite pics from the last years of carnival in Cuglieri.
