Körsbärsgården -The Cherry garden

Back in business!
Excuse me for the silence... It's been a bit crazy! After the last post I packed and made our two Sardinian houses ready for summer guests and we started the long trip to Gotland (It all went smooth!), flying through the Corona-Europe with masks, gloves, and temperature controls (and two 2,5-year olds!).
Now on Gotland, we're having a new 14 days of quarantine... :P
But fortunately, we can work a little at the same time preparing the restaurant for the late opening at the end of June.

I thought it was a good time to present Körsbärsgården today, our life 6 months a year!

Körsbärsgården, the Cherry garden, is situated at the southern point of the island Gotland with the sea in three directions. The area has been popular amongst artists ever since the 40'th and Signe Enström, the owner then, who also gave the property its name, took the opportunity to create a small pension and café for the travelers. She was a great textile artist and garden enthusiast and created a beautiful garden with flowers and herbs for dyeing.

In 2001 when my smallest sister left the house my parents decided to leave their city life and bought the abandoned property and started instantly to explore and develop the old garden. And I, newly baked photographer, gave it a try to reopen the café for the first summer! it was the beginning of a long and beautiful trip! More and more people found the way to us during the years and we started to make small exhibitions, developing the kitchen and the garden.... after 10 years we inaugurated an art hall, that became two buildings a few years later, and then three... The garden has grown, and today we also have a sculpture park, an art school for children, a boutique, and residences for artists! the café has become an Italian restaurant with my companion behind the stove... In the summertime, this little parish of Sundre with its 25 inhabitants becomes a boiling mecca of good food, nature, art, music, poetry, and performances, from all corners of the world!
